Jackson first saw a podiatrist as a 17-year-old for his terrible shin splints, which sparked his interest in pursuing podiatry as a career. As a keen footballer, he went on to develop a number of injuries including ankle sprains, torn hamstrings, and most recently an ACL reconstruction. This personal journey with sports injuries grew his passion for fitness and rehab, which he insists has made him a better podiatrist! He understands the frustrations of not being able to train and compete at the level you want to, and knows exactly what it will take for you to get back there.
Jackson is originally from Newcastle, and began his career in the small coastal town of Forster. There he practiced for two years at an exclusively sports podiatry clinic where he received intensive training in the management of foot and ankle injuries. He also gained experience in speed, agility, and running technique, and was a coach for the world-renowned Academy of Sport Speed Australia (ASSA). There he particularly enjoyed working with young football and netball players to help prevent injuries and improve their performance.
In 2020 Jackson relocated to Victoria with his family to pursue some exciting career opportunities. He received mentorship in strength and conditioning, and began studying his Masters of Exercise Science. Jackson is also involved in podiatry education, and has presented at international podiatry conferences- most recently the UK’s Foot and Ankle Show, where he presented on “Strength and Conditioning in Podiatric Practice”.
Jackson’s practicing philosophy is:
- Understand thoroughly what the problem is.
- Have a plan, and follow it through.
