Dry Needling in Blackburn & Essendon

Melbourne Podiatry Clinic based in Essendon & Blackburn provide quality care to residents throughout Melbourne including Strathmore, Essendon, Blackburn, Box Hill, Mitcham, Brunswick West & Forest Hill.
Dry Needling or Acupuncture may be used as an adjunct to normal podiatry treatment or as an effective way to help many foot and lower leg problems. It is particularly useful for resolving pain from musculoskeletal and neurological conditions relating to the lower limb.
How does it work?
At Melbourne Podiatry Clinic we use very fine, sterile acupuncture needles to target specific myofascial trigger points, periosteum (outer layer of bone) and other soft tissue structures. Dry Needling stimulates a sensory response from within the muscle fibres causing a release of the constriction and allowing normal muscle function.

Benefits
Dry Needling promotes healing, reduces pain and provides a possible treatment for some conditions that do not have a treatment protocol, such as neuropathic pain.
It is used in the treatment of:
- Shin Splints
- Achilles tendinitis
- Plantar fasciitis
- Improve joint range of motion and flexibility
- Relaxes overused, tired muscles
- Reduce spasms and cramping
- Aid in recovery from physical exercise
- Muscle dysfunction
